Scope and business model
This policy applies to BIGJOE’s phone listings, sourcing, customer accounts and transactions. BIGJOE is the retailer. Authorised staff publish inventory; customers cannot create public seller listings or receive payments from other customers through our website or app.
Our online business covers phones: brand new, graded fairly used and Falaa Deals. Each listing must accurately describe its condition. A Falaa Deal is a phone previously used in Ghana with specific known issues disclosed and reflected in its lower price.
Lawful ownership and sourcing
A supplier selling a phone to BIGJOE must own it or have lawful authority to sell it. Our intake checks include seller ID and contact details, a signed sale receipt, proof of purchase, Activation Lock checks and stolen or blacklisted IMEI checks. We do not accept a phone where lawful ownership cannot be established.
No single check is conclusive proof of ownership. We may request further evidence or refuse a purchase if records do not match, the device is locked or flagged, or there is another ownership concern. A receipt, clean status result or unlocked screen does not permit us to ignore conflicting evidence.
Identity records, purchase receipts and device identifiers are handled as private business records. They are not published with customer reviews or listings. See our Privacy Policy.
Prohibited products and conduct
- Stolen phones, devices sold without the owner’s authority, counterfeit products or falsified ownership and purchase records.
- Devices offered in breach of applicable law, or with an unresolved Activation Lock, stolen/blacklisted status or other restriction affecting lawful sale or use.
- Concealing known faults, changing device identifiers, misrepresenting a phone’s model, grade, battery condition or history, or presenting used stock as brand new.
- Unauthorised payment methods, stolen cards, fabricated payment confirmations, money laundering or transactions designed to conceal the source or recipient of funds.
- Fraudulent orders, impersonation, attempts to access another person’s account, credential sharing for abuse, or evasion of security checks.
- Malware, scraping that disrupts the service, vulnerability exploitation, harassment, unlawful content or attempts to expose another person’s private information.
Payments and truthful information
Use a payment method you are authorised to use and give accurate contact and delivery details. Payments are accepted for legitimate BIGJOE phone purchases. Do not use the service to transfer money between unrelated parties or disguise another activity as a phone purchase.
We may pause an affected order or listing while checking a credible fraud, ownership or payment concern. A pause or refusal does not allow us to keep a refund that is lawfully due. We explain available next steps, subject to legal restrictions on disclosure.
Reporting and enforcement
Report suspected stolen stock, an inaccurate condition description, fraud or account abuse to hello@bigjoegh.com or WhatsApp +233 59 358 3583. Include the listing or order reference and a description. Send sensitive evidence privately, not in a public comment.
We may remove a listing, refuse a transaction, restrict an account, preserve relevant records and cooperate with payment providers or authorities where appropriate and lawful. Measures should be proportionate to the concern. You may contact support to question a restriction or provide further evidence.
This policy works alongside our Terms & Conditions, Shipping Policy and Returns & Refunds Policy. None of these removes a non-excludable legal right.
